If you prefer funky, quaint, and edgy, or are traveling on a limited budget, we suggest The French Quarter Courtyard Hotel, at 1101 North Rampart. Six blocks from the French Quarter, this hotel is inexpensive and has Old World Charm. Great location, but not for the Faint Of Heart. If money is no issue in your life, we recommend the The McKendrick-Breaux House, an elegant Bed and Breakfast located at 1474 Magazine Street. See what they have to offer at www.mckendrick-breaux.com.  Room rates are between $145-$235 per night. The owners are fantastic folks.

New Orleans is a pretty small town, so it is possible to get around on bike. Some of us have done it for years--just be careful out thereI A good place to rent bikes while you are in town is Bicycle Michaels on Frenchman (just the other side of the French Quarter). Prices start at about $20/day. See if they rent helmets too, and watch out for some DEEP potholes.
